Conditions for admission:

The following professions are eligible for admission to the courses: 

Physiotherapists and physiotherapist assistants, medical massage therapists, physicians, occupational therapists and osteopaths who can prove their recognition by official health authorities.

Important: Professional qualifications must be fully completed before commencing courses at the Földi College.

Course venue:

Földi College, Teaching Institute of the Földi Clinic, in Freiburg and Földi Clinic, European Center for Lymphology, in Hinterzarten (Germany)

Class time:

• Daily: 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
• on the last day of each part of the course: 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.
• There is no classes on weekends (Saturday and Sunday)

Course contents:

• Anatomy, physiology and pathophysiology of the lymph vessel system.
• Extensive knowledge of lymphological diseases as the essential cornerstone of pratical therapy.
• Introduction into MLD/CDT 
• Manual lymph drainage (principles, techniques, sequences, effect mechanisms, indications and contraindications)
• Compression bandage (principles, effects, indications and contraindications, bandaging products)
• Aspects in regards to skin care and decongestive exercises
• Modification of the treatment measures of CDT in regards to the different lymphological diseases.
• Therapeutic assessment/evaluation, case studies, patient presentation.
• Certificate examination.

Certificate of completion:

After successfully passing the exam, course participants receive the Földi certificate.

Course fees

The course fee for the MLD / CDT course is 3.250 €.

This 5 day program at the Földi Clinic in Hinterzarten is providing an in-depth insight of the daily clinical practice with lymphedema patients

It offers the opportunity for experienced lymphedema therapists to extend knowledge and experience to a wide range of lymphological disorders.

Prof.Dr. Földi's experience is sought after across the globe, demonstrated by the enormous increase in demand for work experience and practical training in recent years.

During the week, you will present your prepared case study with specific questions in the panel of experts in order to collectively dicuss therapy options for your patients.

Contents:

The program design is based on the current clinical routine and is therefore not specified in detail in a timetable. Within the 5 days the following topics will be considered:

• Participation in ward round (usually in German language)
• Presentation of your case studies
• Round table for sharing experiences and for networking
• Insight in wound care in lymphedema patients
• Receiving information in regards to therapy concepts for multimorbid patients
• Participation in exercise groups
• Watching selfmanagement classes
• Observing volumetric measuring
• Following the procedures in the compression garment department

The course fees for the program are 950 Euro. The amount has to be paid three weeks before the program starts.

Admission requirements:

The attendee knows to talk and to understand German or Englisch on good/middle level.

The contents of the program refer to experienced lymphedema therapists with a MLD/CDT certification.

Physiotherapists and massage therapists holding a certification and other occupational groups (such as registered nurses, ostheopaths and medical doctors) are welcome, however please note the following information: the Földi Clinic's therapy concepts are based on physiotherapeutic knowledge and on the MLD/CDT certification.
